Welcome Home! North Star Lofts is part of a larger redevelopment located in the West Side Milling District, located on the downtown side of the Mississippi River, overlooking the Stone Arch Bridge. |
Originally built in 1925 and formerly known as North Star Woolen Mill, the building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This historic treasure sat empty for nearly 50 years until 1998 when the re-development started. The project was completed in the fall of 1999 – and in 2000 won a prestigious preservation award from the City of Minneapolis Heritage Preservation Commission in the category of “adaptive reuse”. |

North Star Lofts sits on the Mississippi River and is within walking distance of the new Guthrie Theater, Mill City Museum, Mill Ruins Park, and many restaurants and local hangouts. There are clear views of the StoneArch Bridge and downtown Minneapolis on the other side of the building. After renovation, the condominium homes combine historic character of exposed brickwork and ductwork and concrete floors in many of the homes with the conveniences of many modern amenities. |
